Tooth Whitening Treatments

Dr. Handa and her professional team aim to give patients the highest quality of dental care possible. They assist patients in finding the type of teeth whitening method that works with their budget and oral health needs. In-office and at-home professional teeth whitening are both great options for patients who want a brighter smile:

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

The most popular method for teeth whitening is our Zoom!®  teeth whitening system. This method is safe, effective, fast. Our clinician will place cheek retractors in the mouth to expose teeth. A protective covering is placed over the gum tissue and the bleaching agent is applied to the surface of the teeth.

Then they will apply the Zoom!® whitening gel which is designed to be used specifically with the Zoom!® light. The light and gel work together to gently penetrate our teeth, breaking up the stains and discoloration. The gel is applied for 3 fifteen minute sessions for a total treatment time of 45 minutes.

Take-Home Treatment

Dr. Handa and her team offer an at-home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. This method usually requires two visits. During your first appointment, we will take detailed dental impressions of your teeth. These will be used to create customized clear plastic trays. During your second appointment, adjustments will be made to ensure a comfortable fit.

Dr. Handa will give you instructions for using the whitening solution.

Bleaching trays are filled with a special whitening solution and worn either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening. Tooth sensitivity usually subsides shortly after the treatment is complete.
